As a Stone Yard Worker, you will be an essential part of our operations, responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and organization of various stone and construction materials. Your day will involve a variety of tasks, ensuring our yard operates smoothly and that materials are ready for dispatch to critical projects across the city. This role is physically demanding but incredibly rewarding, offering a tangible connection to the development of Toronto’s infrastructure, including vital transit initiatives like the Downtown Relief Line. You’ll work alongside an experienced team who are committed to safety and quality, learning best practices for material handling, inventory management, and even basic equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of stone and other construction materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.
- Organize and maintain the stone yard, ensuring materials are stored efficiently and safely according to company standards.
- Operate basic yard equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) after receiving proper training and certification.
- Perform general yard maintenance, including sweeping, cleaning, and ensuring a tidy and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and material identification, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and meet project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Strong physical stamina and capacity for repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and equipment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications
