Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director specializing in Logistics to join our executive team in Leslieville, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy aligned with overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee all aspects of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, automation) to enhance logistics capabilities.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and other supply chain partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Implement robust demand forecasting and supply planning processes to minimize stockouts and optimize inventory levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant domestic and international trade, transportation, and customs regulations.
- Champion sustainability initiatives within the logistics framework, seeking eco-friendly and efficient solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management with a strong focus on Logistics.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large teams and complex logistics operations.
- Expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Deep understanding of global trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in logistics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
