Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive suspension, steering, and alignment systems using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of suspension components including shocks, struts, control arms, bushings, ball joints, springs, and related hardware.
- Conduct precise wheel alignments and balancing, ensuring vehicles meet manufacturer specifications and optimal driving performance.
- Inspect and diagnose issues related to power steering systems, tie rods, pitman arms, idler arms, and steering boxes.
- Advise customers on necessary repairs and maintenance, clearly explaining technical issues and recommended solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, diagnoses, and repairs performed, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated with new automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous training and self-study.
- Collaborate effectively with other technicians and service advisors to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to industry best practices and shop safety regulations.
- Perform road tests to verify the effectiveness of repairs and adjustments.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Automotive Suspension Specialist or a highly skilled Automotive Technician with a focus on suspension.
- Valid Automotive Service Technician (310S) license in Ontario.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex suspension and steering issues.
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools, alignment machines, and specialized suspension repair equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, geometry, and suspension system functionalities.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certifications (or equivalent) in Suspension and Steering.
- Experience with performance suspension systems and aftermarket modifications.
- Familiarity with various makes and models, including European and high-end vehicles.
- A track record of continuous professional development and training.
- Proficiency in using digital service management systems.
