As a Swim Coach, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality swimming instruction, guiding participants through various stroke techniques, critical water safety principles, and advanced aquatic skills. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate swim lessons to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in and around the aquatic facility at all times.
- Assess swimmers' abilities and provide constructive feedback for skill improvement and progression.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with established curriculum and learning objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and development.
- Enforce pool rules, safety regulations, and emergency procedures diligently.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions as required.
- Set up and put away aquatic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment for all swimmers.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated strong swimming proficiency and knowledge of various stroke techniques.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching swimming lessons to diverse age groups.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with children, youth, and adults.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lifesaving Society Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or equivalent.
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) coaching qualifications.
- Experience working with swimmers with special needs or diverse abilities.
- Background in competitive swimming or advanced aquatic sports.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Mandarin).
