Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality swimming lessons to individuals and groups of varying ages and skill levels.
- Assess swimmers' abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
- Ensure the safety of all participants at all times, strictly adhering to aquatic safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool deck and instructional area.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress, concerns, and program details.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment for all participants.
- Complete administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and progress reports.
- Collaborate with other aquatics staff and management to ensure smooth program delivery.
Required Skills
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor (LSS SI) certification or equivalent.
- Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross or higher certification.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Minimum 6 months of experience teaching swimming lessons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Lifeguard (NL) certification.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Additional aquatic certifications (e.g., Aquafit Instructor, First Aid Instructor).
- Fluency in additional languages.
