Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor system performance, network activity, security events, and application health using various monitoring tools.
- Respond promptly to alerts, alarms, and incident tickets, performing initial triage and escalation according to defined protocols.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and diagnostic steps for reported incidents, isolating issues and documenting findings.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and documentation of all events, incidents, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
- Collaborate effectively with senior engineers, on-call teams, and external support vendors to ensure timely resolution of complex issues.
- Execute routine system checks, health assessments, and data backups during the night shift to ensure operational integrity.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes, tools, and documentation, suggesting enhancements where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in utilizing IT monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems in a professional environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical abilities, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to remain focused and vigilant during night hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification, or other relevant IT certifications.
- Previous experience with specific monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.
- Prior experience working a night shift schedule or in a 24/7 operations center.
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation or data extraction.
