Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Tax Manager with a valid CPA designation to join our dynamic team in Mimico, Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, ensuring timely compliance.
  • Prepare and review complex T1, T2, T3, and HST returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Represent clients during tax audits and respond effectively to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax staff, fostering their professional development and technical skills.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and stay abreast of changes in Canadian tax legislation and policies.
  • Assist in business development activities and maintain strong, lasting client relationships.
  • Oversee tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures related to income taxes.
  • Develop and implement internal tax processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Valid Canadian CPA designation in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on Canadian taxation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian income tax legislation (T1, T2, T3, HST, provincial taxes).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities for client interaction and internal reporting.
  • Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Taxprep, Caseware) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Taxation (MTax) or completion of the In-Depth Tax Course.
  • Experience with international taxation or cross-border tax issues.
  • Prior experience in a management or supervisory role, leading a team of tax professionals.
  • Client relationship management software experience.
