Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing lessons, ensuring materials are readily available.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other key areas of the curriculum.
- Help to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, engaging learning environment, adhering to school policies.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an additional language (EAL) under the guidance of the teacher.
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities, including lunch breaks, playtime, and school trips.
- Assist with the assessment of student progress, recording observations and providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Prepare and organise learning resources, display boards, and classroom equipment.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and well-being.
- Participate in relevant professional development opportunities and school meetings as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support and varied tasks.
- Basic IT proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, online learning platforms).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.

Preferred Qualifications
