Job Description

As a Telecom Ground Hand, you will be an integral part of our dynamic field operations team, working directly on critical infrastructure projects, including the significant Yonge North Subway Extension. No prior experience in telecommunications? No problem! In this physically active role, you will be working outdoors in various weather conditions, assisting our experienced technicians and installers with the setup, maintenance, and repair of vital fiber optic and copper cable networks. Your day-to-day could involve a variety of tasks, from preparing job sites and operating essential hand and power tools to assisting with cable pulling, trenching, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled technicians with various telecommunications installation and maintenance tasks.
- Perform trenching, digging, and backfilling activities for cable placement.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Support cable pulling, splicing, and termination activities.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Prepare job sites and secure work areas.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
