Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status, presenting concerns, and treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to clients' specific goals and circumstances.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions using various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, person-centred).
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, referring agencies, and support systems as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings to ensure best practices and continuous learning.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health promotion initiatives within the community.
  • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and facilitate appropriate termination or referral services.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
  • Accreditation or registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, HCPC).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong active listening abilities.
  • Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Strong ethical decision-making skills and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialization or advanced training in a particular area of mental health (e.g., trauma, anxiety, substance use).
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with local mental health resources and community support networks.
  • Certification in specific evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, EMDR, ACT).
  • Experience in group therapy facilitation.
