The “Tile Setter Helper – Will Train” position at Hiring.zycto is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual eager to embark on a career in the skilled trades. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead tile setters with the preparation of surfaces, including cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing membranes.
- Cut tiles to specified sizes and shapes using tile cutters, wet saws, and other specialized tools.
- Mix and spread mortar, thin-set, and grout accurately and efficiently.
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site.
- Clean up work areas, dispose of debris, and maintain a tidy and organized environment.
- Learn and apply proper installation techniques under direct supervision.
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards and company policies.
- Assist with the protection of surrounding areas during installation to prevent damage.
- Support in sealing and finishing newly installed tiles.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Safety-conscious mindset.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles (will be trained).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a general labour or construction environment.
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic hand tool proficiency.
