Job Description

The “Tile Setter Helper – Will Train” position at Hiring.zycto is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual eager to embark on a career in the skilled trades. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead tile setters with the preparation of surfaces, including cleaning, leveling, and applying waterproofing membranes.
  • Cut tiles to specified sizes and shapes using tile cutters, wet saws, and other specialized tools.
  • Mix and spread mortar, thin-set, and grout accurately and efficiently.
  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site.
  • Clean up work areas, dispose of debris, and maintain a tidy and organized environment.
  • Learn and apply proper installation techniques under direct supervision.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with the protection of surrounding areas during installation to prevent damage.
  • Support in sealing and finishing newly installed tiles.

Required Skills

  • Strong willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and angles (will be trained).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a general labour or construction environment.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic hand tool proficiency.
