Job Description
As a Tool and Die Maker – Professional at Hiring.zycto, you will be instrumental in the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of intricate dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures essential for our advanced manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, repair, and maintain precision dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges from blueprints or 3D models.
- Operate conventional and CNC machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs) to fabricate tooling components.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, diagnose, and resolve tooling issues to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on dies and tooling to ensure longevity and peak performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to develop and improve tooling designs and processes.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to strict quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, operational procedures, and quality control guidelines.
Required Skills
- Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of manual and CNC machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Solid knowledge of various metals, alloys, and heat treatment processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience mentoring apprentices or junior colleagues.
- Experience with progressive dies and transfer dies.
