Hiring.zycto is seeking a vibrant and engaging Tour Guide to lead our immersive City & Heritage Walks across Chilwell and the broader Nottingham area. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and informative walking tours for diverse groups of visitors.
  • Research, develop, and update tour content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and entertainment value.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants throughout the duration of the tour.
  • Manage group dynamics, respond to questions, and provide local recommendations with enthusiasm.
  • Adhere to scheduled tour timings and logistical plans, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Assist with marketing efforts by providing content or participating in promotional activities.
  • Maintain a deep and up-to-date knowledge of Chilwell's and Nottingham's history, culture, and points of interest.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional public speaking and communication skills, with a clear and engaging voice.
  • Demonstrable deep knowledge of Chilwell and Nottingham's history, heritage, and cultural significance.
  • Ability to captivate, entertain, and educate diverse audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent time management to keep tours on schedule.
  • Proficiency in adapting presentation style to various group sizes and interests.
  • Customer-service oriented approach with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in History, Archaeology, Tourism, Heritage Studies, or a related field.
  • Previous professional experience as a tour guide, museum educator, or public speaker.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Mandarin).
  • Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Local residency in Chilwell or the broader Nottingham area with in-depth local knowledge.
  • Experience in content creation for historical or cultural interpretation.
