Are you an experienced and certified Tower Climber seeking a challenging role with significant earning potential? Hiring.zycto is actively recruiting skilled professionals to join our elite field operations team based out of Lakeview, Mississauga. This is a full-time opportunity offering high pay for individuals committed to safety, quality, and technical excellence in the telecommunications sector. As a Tower Climber, you will be instrumental in the construction, maintenance, and upgrade of crucial cellular and communication towers across various sites. Your day-to-day will involve working at heights, performing intricate installations, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring the structural integrity of vital network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute safe and efficient climbing, rigging, and working at heights on various telecommunication structures (towers, rooftops, poles).
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot antennas, lines, radios, and other associated RF and network equipment.
  • Perform site inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on active and passive infrastructure.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (e.g., fall protection, lockout/tagout).
  • Conduct thorough inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE), climbing gear, and tools prior to use.
  • Complete accurate documentation, including daily reports, safety checklists, and project progress updates.
  • Collaborate effectively with ground crew, project managers, and other technicians to ensure project completion on schedule and to specification.
  • Assist with equipment loading, unloading, and site preparation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technology and safety best practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Tower Climber or similar role in telecommunications.
  • Valid Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue certification (e.g., COMMSAR, ENSA, IRATA).
  • Working at Heights certification (Ontario standard).
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, antenna theory, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools relevant to tower work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and at significant heights.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education or trade certification in telecommunications, electrical, or a related field.
  • Experience with various tower types (self-support, guyed, monopole) and rooftop installations.
  • Familiarity with various carrier specific equipment and installation standards.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (or equivalent Canadian safety training).
  • Experience operating aerial work platforms (AWP) or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP).
