Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Entry-Level Traffic Control Assistant to join our team in Port Malabar, Palm Bay, FL. As a Traffic Control Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of construction crews, pedestrians, and motorists around work zones. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, directing traffic flow, and communicating effectively with team members and the public.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, possesses a strong work ethic, and is committed to upholding the highest safety standards. No prior experience in traffic control is required, as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You will learn everything from proper flagger techniques to the correct placement of cones, barrels, and signage in accordance with Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and break down traffic control zones using cones, barrels, signs, and other equipment.
- Safely direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction sites using hand signals and flags.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, co-workers, and the public.
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust traffic control setups as needed to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Attend regular safety meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist with other general labor duties as assigned by the supervisor.
