Key Responsibilities
- Translate a wide range of documents and materials (e.g., marketing content, technical guides, legal documents, website copy, customer support scripts) from English into target languages and vice versa.
- Ensure all translated content maintains the original meaning, context, tone, and style, while also being culturally appropriate for the target audience.
- Perform thorough proofreading and editing of translated texts to guarantee linguistic accuracy, grammatical correctness, and adherence to company terminology and style guides.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to understand specific translation requirements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality translations.
- Manage and maintain translation memories (TMs), glossaries, and terminology databases to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Conduct linguistic quality assurance (LQA) on materials translated by external vendors or internal team members.
- Research specialized terminology and linguistic nuances to ensure accuracy in technical and industry-specific content.
- Provide real-time interpretation or ad-hoc translation support for meetings, communications, or urgent requests as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of translation processes and tools within the organization.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least two other languages relevant to our global operations (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Arabic).
- Proven experience as a professional translator, preferably within a corporate or agency setting.
- Exceptional command of grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style in all working languages.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and ability to adapt content for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Translation Memory (TM) software and CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MemoQ, Wordfast).
- Excellent research skills to ensure accuracy in specialized terminology.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized translation body (e.g., ITI, ATA).
- Experience in specific industries such as technology, finance, marketing, or legal.
- Familiarity with localization best practices and content management systems.
- Additional language proficiencies beyond the required two.
- Experience with machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
