Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan domestic and international freight movements, including FCL, LCL, air, and road freight.
  • Liaise effectively with carriers, customers, and overseas agents to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
  • Prepare, process, and manage all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and delivery notes.
  • Track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, providing proactive updates and resolving any transit issues.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and suppliers to optimize cost-efficiency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies.
  • Utilise logistics software to schedule, track, and manage all operational data.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints or operational discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on transport activities and performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the freight division.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Transport Coordinator or in a similar logistics role within a freight environment.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international freight processes, regulations, and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficient in using logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific customs declaration software (e.g., CHIEF/CDS).
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations (ADR/IATA).
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
