Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient daily transport plans, optimizing routes for cost-effectiveness and timely delivery across Scotland and the wider UK.
- Manage the planning and dispatch of a diverse fleet of vehicles, allocating resources based on capacity, driver availability, and delivery requirements.
- Utilize Transport Management Systems (TMS) and route optimization software to generate detailed schedules and monitor progress.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery schedules, updates, and potential issues.
- Monitor real-time transport operations, identifying and resolving any deviations, delays, or challenges promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant road transport legislation, including driver hours regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards.
- Analyze transport data and performance metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement in efficiency, cost, and service quality.
- Manage administrative tasks related to transport operations, including documentation, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in transport planning, route design, and vehicle dispatch within a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Proficiency in using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Scotland and the broader UK road network.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
