Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport schedules for all incoming and outgoing goods.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., operations, retail, animal care) to understand transportation needs and requirements.
- Manage relationships with external carriers, vendors, and suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Monitor transport operations in real-time, proactively addressing and resolving any delays, issues, or unforeseen challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including shipment details, costs, and performance metrics.
- Ensure all transport activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure the optimal functioning of any dedicated fleet or equipment.
- Implement cost-effective strategies for route planning and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Prepare reports on transport performance, identifying areas for improvement and presenting solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transport scheduling or logistics coordination
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software
- Strong understanding of transport regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience working in a large-scale entertainment, hospitality, or attraction venue
- Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics Management (e.g., SCMP, CTL)
- Familiarity with the Toronto and greater Ontario transportation network
