You will be tasked with developing detailed, dynamic schedules for all incoming and outgoing shipments, managing and coordinating a diverse array of logistical requirements, which may include overseeing a dedicated fleet of vehicles or expertly coordinating with third-party logistics providers. Your duties will also encompass meticulous oversight of vehicle maintenance planning, ensuring peak performance and adherence to all safety protocols, alongside strict compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport schedules for all incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., operations, retail, animal care) to understand transportation needs and requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external carriers, vendors, and suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Monitor transport operations in real-time, proactively addressing and resolving any delays, issues, or unforeseen challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including shipment details, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure all transport activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure the optimal functioning of any dedicated fleet or equipment.
  • Implement cost-effective strategies for route planning and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Prepare reports on transport performance, identifying areas for improvement and presenting solutions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transport scheduling or logistics coordination
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software
  • Strong understanding of transport regulations and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience working in a large-scale entertainment, hospitality, or attraction venue
  • Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics Management (e.g., SCMP, CTL)
  • Familiarity with the Toronto and greater Ontario transportation network
