As a Travel Agent – Booking & Itineraries, you will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through every step of their travel planning process. This involves everything from initial consultation and destination research to securing flights, accommodations, ground transportation, and bespoke excursions. You’ll navigate global distribution systems (GDS) with expertise, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all bookings. Beyond the technical aspects, this role demands a natural flair for sales, identifying opportunities to enhance travel experiences and meet revenue targets, all while upholding our commitment to exceptional service. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth client consultations to understand travel preferences, budget, and specific requirements.
- Research, recommend, and create custom travel itineraries for a variety of domestic and international destinations.
- Book flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, tours, and other travel services using GDS platforms and various booking engines.
- Manage all aspects of the booking process, including modifications, cancellations, and special requests, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.
- Provide expert advice on travel regulations, visa requirements, travel insurance, and health advisories.
- Proactively identify and capitalize on sales opportunities to upsell and cross-sell travel products and services.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support before, during, and after their trips.
- Resolve any travel-related issues or emergencies promptly and professionally.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new destinations, travel restrictions, and supplier promotions.
- Process payments, manage invoices, and ensure all financial transactions are handled securely and accurately.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Travel Agent or Travel Consultant.
- Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS), such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Excellent knowledge of international travel destinations, geography, and cultural nuances.
- Proven sales and customer service skills with a client-centric approach.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
