Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Entry Level Tree Service Helpers in the Eglinton Crosstown area of Toronto. As a Tree Service Helper, you will be the backbone of our ground operations, supporting our experienced arborists and tree climbers. Your day will be diverse, challenging, and rewarding, involving everything from clearing brush and dragging branches to operating essential ground equipment and ensuring the work site is safe and organized. You’ll gain hands-on experience with various tools and machinery, understand the fundamentals of tree biology and care, and learn critical safety protocols that are paramount in our industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist arborists and tree climbers with all ground operations, including brush clearing, dragging branches, and feeding wood chippers.
  • Operate and maintain various ground equipment such as chainsaws, leaf blowers, rakes, and other tools under supervision.
  • Ensure the worksite is safe, clean, and organized before, during, and after operations.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform general clean-up and debris removal, ensuring efficient waste management.
  • Learn to identify common tree species, diseases, and hazards.
  • Support traffic control measures around work areas as required.
  • Participate actively in daily safety briefings and training sessions.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to teamwork.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols or a strong commitment to learning them.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work with hand tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid G Class Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience working outdoors in a labor-intensive role.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and small engine operation.
