Job Description
Hiring.zycto is expanding its operations in our state-of-the-art logistics hub located in Thorner, Leeds, and we are actively seeking diligent and physically capable Truck Loaders to join our vibrant team. This pivotal full-time role is essential to our daily success, ensuring the timely and accurate loading and unloading of goods, enabling the smooth flow of products through our distribution network. As a Truck Loader, you will be at the heart of our operations, handling a diverse range of items, meticulously preparing shipments, and ensuring that all goods are secured safely and efficiently for transit.
You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment, collaborating closely with warehouse operatives, dispatch teams, and drivers to meet daily targets and maintain our high standards of service. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment or manual methods.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests, ensuring accuracy of quantity, type, and condition of goods.
- Organise and stack products neatly and securely within the truck, optimising space and preventing damage during transit.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (if certified) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and loading procedures.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards immediately to a supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including picking, packing, and sorting.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail for verifying shipments and identifying discrepancies.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading manifests and performing simple counts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labour role.
- Valid Forklift Operator license (e.g., Counterbalance or Reach Truck).
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking procedures.
