Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and design specifications to determine upholstery requirements.
- Cut, sew, and fit various materials including fabrics, vinyl, and leather to furniture frames.
- Operate manual and power tools, including staple guns, sewing machines, and cutting equipment, safely and proficiently.
- Attach foam, padding, and springs to furniture frames, ensuring proper support and comfort.
- Perform frame repairs, reinforce structural components, and replace worn materials as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to design specifications and company standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including designers, carpenters, and other production staff.
- Manage material inventory, report discrepancies, and minimize waste through efficient cutting and usage.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to upholstery processes or material defects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer in a manufacturing or workshop setting.
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and various upholstery tools.
- Strong understanding of fabric types, patterns, and cutting techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Physical dexterity and strength to lift and move materials and furniture components.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Vocational training or certification in upholstery or a related field.
- Experience with commercial or contract furniture upholstery.
