Key Responsibilities
- Skillfully disassemble and reassemble automotive interiors, including seats, door panels, dashboards, and headliners.
- Accurately measure, cut, sew, and fit various upholstery materials such as leather, vinyl, cloth, and carpeting.
- Repair and replace worn, damaged, or torn upholstery, foam, springs, and other structural components of automotive seating.
- Utilize specialized tools and machinery, including industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, staplers, and heat guns.
- Perform custom upholstery work, including design modifications and bespoke interior enhancements, to meet client specifications.
- Inspect finished work for quality assurance, ensuring all repairs and installations meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and durability.
- Collaborate effectively with other technicians, mechanics, and shop management to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Estimate material and labor costs for various upholstery projects and provide accurate quotes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex upholstery-related issues and challenges.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an Automotive Upholstery Technician.
- Demonstrated proficiency in automotive upholstery techniques and material handling.
- Expert-level operation of industrial sewing machines and other specialized upholstery tools.
- Strong knowledge of different upholstery materials (leather, vinyl, fabric) and their application.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and acute hand-eye coordination.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to precision craftsmanship.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
