Job Description

Are you a visionary UX/UI Designer with a passion for creating seamless, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing digital experiences across web and mobile platforms? Hiring.zycto is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our innovative team in Finaghy, Belfast. This is an exceptional opportunity for a design leader who thrives on translating complex user needs into intuitive and delightful interfaces that drive measurable impact.

At Hiring.zycto, we believe that exceptional design is at the heart of every successful product. We’re not just building applications; we’re crafting experiences that resonate deeply with users and solve real-world problems. As our UX/UI Designer, you will be instrumental in defining the visual and interactive language of our next generation of products. You will work within a collaborative, agile environment, closely partnering with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life. From initial concept and user research through to final polished designs and implementation support, you will own the end-to-end design process, ensuring consistency, usability, and a visually compelling brand presence.

We are looking for someone who is not only proficient in design tools but also possesses a deep understanding of user psychology, information architecture, and interaction design principles. Your ability to articulate design decisions, present concepts to diverse audiences, and advocate for user needs will be critical. You’ll be expected to conduct user research, create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, and continuously iterate based on feedback and analytics. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing design challenges. If you’re ready to make a significant impact on user journeys and product success, we encourage you to apply and become a key part of our growing design powerhouse. This is a chance to truly leave your mark on products that will be used by thousands, if not millions, of people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive user research, interviews, and usability testing to understand user needs, behaviours, and motivations.
  • Translate user research findings and business requirements into intuitive user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications.
  • Design and iterate on user interfaces, ensuring consistency across platforms and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Present and articulate design concepts, rationale, and user-centred design solutions to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies, continuously seeking ways to improve our design processes and product quality.
  • Participate in design critiques, providing and receiving constructive feedback to elevate the overall design output.

Required Skills

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UX/UI design projects for both web and mobile applications
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, and interaction design patterns
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing
  • Ability to create detailed wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, colour, and layout
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation for UI elements
  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand technical constraints
  • Experience designing for accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Knowledge of analytics tools to inform design decisions

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses
  • Generous paid time off and public holidays
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
