Key Responsibilities
- Prepare soil and planting beds for various vegetable crops, ensuring optimal growth conditions.
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest a wide range of vegetables by hand and using simple farm tools.
- Perform essential field tasks such as weeding, thinning, and pruning to maintain crop health and yield.
- Assist with irrigation systems, including setting up, monitoring water levels, and moving hoses/sprinklers.
- Monitor crop health diligently, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies to supervisors.
- Handle and package harvested produce according to strict quality standards and market readiness requirements.
- Operate and maintain basic farm equipment and tools safely and effectively (e.g., tillers, wheelbarrows, hand tools).
- Clean and maintain farm facilities, including greenhouses, storage areas, packing sheds, and equipment to ensure hygiene and longevity.
- Follow all strict food safety, occupational health, and safety guidelines and procedures.
