Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in various vehicle types using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Conduct comprehensive repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and other critical components.
- Execute pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles to meet required standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and hours worked.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle issues and required repairs.
- Keep abreast of new automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous learning.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or Technician
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic software
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems and components (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrics)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Valid UK driving license
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
- Experience with various car manufacturers and models
- Familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicle systems
- MOT Tester certification (classes 4 & 7)
