Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across various makes and models.
- Conduct thorough routine service inspections, identifying and reporting any additional work required.
- Execute complex mechanical and electrical repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension components.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and software to accurately identify vehicle faults and provide effective solutions.
- Document all work performed accurately and comprehensively, including parts used and labour hours.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, industry standards, and workshop procedures.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to service advisors for customer explanation.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with new technologies and repair techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Vehicle Technician in a professional workshop setting.
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Exceptional diagnostic and fault-finding abilities with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Valid full UK driving license.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current MOT Tester qualification (Classes 4 & 7).
- Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicles (EV/HEV) and relevant certifications.
- Manufacturer-specific accreditations or advanced diagnostic training certificates.
- Experience with specialist tools and techniques for specific vehicle brands.
