Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint and handling during examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available and properly sterilized.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the clinic, including kennels, cages, treatment areas, and reception, adhering to strict hygiene protocols.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients, alert veterinary staff to any changes or concerns.
- Feed, water, and walk hospitalized animals, observing their behavior and reporting any unusual activity.
- Assist with the administration of medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
- Prepare laboratory samples for analysis and assist with basic laboratory procedures.
- Handle inventory management tasks, including stocking supplies and alerting senior staff to low stock levels.
- Provide compassionate client service, assisting with check-ins and check-outs, answering general inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming front-desk atmosphere when needed.
- Educate clients on basic animal care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions under supervision.
- Support the veterinary team with various administrative duties, including maintaining accurate patient records and scheduling appointments.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
