Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented VP of Operations to spearhead our manufacturing division in Riverdale Park, Toronto. This pivotal leadership role demands a seasoned executive with a proven track record of optimizing complex manufacturing processes, driving operational efficiencies, and delivering superior product quality. As the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that our manufacturing operations are world-class, cost-effective, and capable of scaling to meet ambitious business objectives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans to ensure alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Oversee all manufacturing operations, including production planning, inventory management, logistics, and quality control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of operational leaders and staff, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO certifications).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D on new product introduction processes, ensuring smooth transition from design to full-scale production.
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Lead capital expenditure projects for facility upgrades, equipment acquisition, and technological advancements.
  • Implement digital transformation initiatives within manufacturing to leverage automation, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years at a VP or equivalent executive level.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale production facilities and complex supply chains.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) or a relevant advanced degree.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Background in specific industry sectors relevant to Hiring.zycto (e.g., advanced materials, automotive, aerospace, consumer goods manufacturing).
  • Experience in global supply chain management and international operations.
