Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and reliable Full-Time Warehouse Delivery Driver to join our growing team in Nepean, Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle (e.g., cargo van, light truck) to deliver goods to customers on scheduled routes.
- Load and unload merchandise, ensuring accurate counts, secure packaging, and condition checks before and after transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation using electronic devices or paper forms.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including those related to vehicle operation and load securement.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor, and addressing inquiries or concerns efficiently.
- Report any vehicle maintenance requirements, delivery discrepancies, or customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including picking, packing, sorting, and organizing inventory when not on a delivery route, ensuring operational fluidity.
- Utilize navigation tools and route optimization software to plan and execute the most efficient delivery paths.
- Handle cash or process payment transactions accurately and securely if required, following established company protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid Class G or equivalent driver's license with a clean driving record (abstract required).
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a delivery driver or in a similar professional transportation role.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Excellent knowledge of Ottawa and surrounding areas, including optimal routes and traffic patterns.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Exceptional time management and organizational abilities to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle checks and troubleshooting common issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery management software for tracking packages.
- Forklift certification (an asset for enhanced warehouse support capabilities).
- First Aid and CPR certification (valuable for workplace safety).
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
