Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload freight by hand or by using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests or invoices, noting any discrepancies.
- Sort and organize products in designated warehouse areas, ensuring proper stacking and storage procedures are followed.
- Perform routine checks on warehouse equipment and report any malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and participate in general warehouse duties as required.
- Operate within a team environment to achieve daily production and quality targets.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding loading patterns and product placement to prevent damage.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a warehouse setting (e.g., varying temperatures).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a warehouse, logistics, or similar loading/unloading role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
