Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting daily safety checks and routine inspections of warehouse equipment and facilities.
  • Document safety observations, potential hazards, and minor incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Help organize and facilitate safety training sessions for new and existing warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial (Manitoba), and company health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of safety equipment, PPE, and first-aid supplies.
  • Actively promote a culture of safety, encouraging safe work practices among all warehouse staff.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations as directed by senior safety personnel.
  • Assist in identifying potential hazards and recommending practical corrective actions.
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to safety documentation and record-keeping.

Required Skills

  • Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and diligently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting (even non-safety related).
  • Familiarity with provincial (Manitoba) occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Completion of any safety-related courses or certifications (e.g., WHMIS).
