Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections of the warehouse, equipment, and work areas.
- Help identify potential safety hazards and non-compliance issues, reporting findings to the Safety Manager.
- Support the documentation and investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Assist in maintaining accurate safety records, logs, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in the development and delivery of safety orientation and ongoing training programs for new and existing employees.
- Monitor adherence to safety policies and procedures by all warehouse personnel.
- Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure proper use and availability.
- Assist with emergency preparedness drills and procedures (e.g., fire, evacuation).
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among all team members.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations to implement corrective actions for identified safety deficiencies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new safety regulations and best practices
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly in a warehouse environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse or industrial setting (even non-safety related)
- Familiarity with basic safety principles or concepts
- First Aid/CPR certification
- OSHA 10-hour General Industry or Construction certification
