As our Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll be instrumental in overseeing all aspects of inventory control, from receiving and storage to picking and dispatch. You will implement robust inventory management systems, conduct regular audits, and resolve discrepancies with precision. Your leadership will ensure that all outbound shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched on schedule, adhering to strict quality and compliance standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment. We are seeking an individual who can inspire their team, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives that enhance overall warehouse performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using WMS (Warehouse Management System) or similar software.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and loading of outbound shipments, ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and processes for maximum efficiency and space utilization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including procurement and transport, to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, arranging for repairs as needed.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse supervision or a similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience with inventory management systems (WMS) and practices.
  • Strong understanding of dispatch processes and logistics operations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, including training and development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Full valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Forklift license (Reach and Counterbalance).
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a warehouse setting.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation pertinent to warehousing.
