Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and predictive maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex malfunctions in turbine components, including gearboxes, generators, and control systems.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty parts, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and preventative maintenance checks to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Utilize SCADA systems and specialized diagnostic tools to monitor turbine performance and identify anomalies.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with industry best practices and new technologies.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Respond to emergency call-outs for urgent repairs and system failures outside of regular hours, as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Wind Turbine Technician Certification (e.g., GWO Basic Safety Training, recognized apprenticeship program)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in wind turbine maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems diagnostics and repair.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage safety procedures.
- Excellent physical condition, including the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for turbine maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical diploma in Wind Energy Technology or a related field.
- Experience with various turbine manufacturers (e.g., Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE).
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training certification.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and data analysis for performance optimization.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes) relevant to turbine maintenance.
