Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of wind turbine components and systems.
- Prepare tools, equipment, and materials required for daily tasks, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly handled.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at turbine sites, strictly adhering to all company and industry safety protocols.
- Learn and diligently apply all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), fall protection, confined space entry, and emergency response plans.
- Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of turbine parts, reporting any anomalies or potential issues immediately.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by observing, accurately reporting findings, and diligently following instructions from senior technicians.
- Actively participate in all mandatory safety briefings, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under direct supervision.
- Assist with documenting tasks completed, inventory management, and contributing to site reports.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new technical skills and adapt to evolving job requirements.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing ladders (often to great heights), lifting heavy equipment, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to all regulations and procedures.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and a proactive attitude towards learning and problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and remote locations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and eagerness to develop technical skills.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a trade, industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Knowledge of basic electrical principles, hydraulics, or mechanics.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Experience with heavy equipment operation or basic machinery.
- Post-secondary education or vocational training in a technical field or related discipline.
