Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Windows Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in Downtown Sulphur. This full-time role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our Windows-based server infrastructure, which underpins all our client operations. As a Windows Administrator, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our Windows Server environment, including deployment, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high availability and optimal performance of business-critical applications and services.
Your day-to-day will involve proactive system monitoring, applying necessary updates and patches, and ensuring our systems adhere to the highest security standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) across physical and virtual environments.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, and DHCP services.
- Perform routine system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal server health and resource utilization.
- Implement, test, and manage server patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure system security and data integrity by adhering to best practices, implementing access controls, and managing security configurations.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for server hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Manage and optimize virtualization platforms, primarily VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for task automation, system configuration, and reporting.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical incidents.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
- Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery methodologies and tools.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and incident management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Intune.
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
- ITIL Foundation certification.
