Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Zamboni Driver to join our team in Sheridan, Mississauga. This includes performing pre-trip inspections, basic troubleshooting, and routine cleaning of the machine. Key Responsibilities
- Operate ice resurfacing equipment (Zamboni/Olympia) safely and efficiently to maintain optimal ice conditions.
- Perform pre-operation checks, post-operation cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance on the ice resurfacer.
- Monitor ice quality regularly and adjust resurfacing techniques as needed to achieve desired results.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Assist with general arena maintenance tasks, including cleaning, sweeping, and minor repairs.
- Communicate effectively with arena staff regarding ice conditions, equipment status, and operational schedules.
- Respond to emergencies or equipment malfunctions promptly and effectively.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations, including WHMIS.
- Maintain accurate logs of ice resurfacing activities, equipment maintenance, and fuel usage.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating an ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni/Olympia).
- Strong understanding of ice mechanics and resurfacing techniques.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of ice quality.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties that involve standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working in a recreational facility or arena setting.
- Knowledge of various ice sports rules and requirements.
- WHMIS certification.
