Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw audio recordings, including interviews, monologues, and sound effects, to remove filler, optimize pacing, and enhance overall clarity and flow.
- Perform advanced audio mixing and mastering, incorporating music, intros/outros, advertisements, and sound design elements to create a cohesive and professional listening experience.
- Implement client and producer feedback efficiently and accurately, ensuring that final edits align with creative vision and brand guidelines.
- Ensure all audio content adheres to strict quality standards, broadcast levels, and platform-specific technical specifications.
- Manage multiple podcast projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and communicating progress effectively with the production team.
- Collaborate closely with podcast hosts, producers, and content creators to understand project goals and contribute creative ideas for sound design and storytelling.
- Maintain an organized workflow, including file management, archiving, and version control for all audio assets.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Adobe Audition, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, or Reaper.
- Demonstrable experience in audio editing, mixing, and mastering for podcasts or similar audio productions.
- Strong understanding of sound design principles, audio engineering fundamentals, and acoustics.
- Excellent ear for detail and a strong sense of rhythm, timing, and narrative flow in audio.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with team members and receiving feedback.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing previous podcast editing work is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Production, Communications, Film, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with audio restoration tools and techniques for cleaning up challenging recordings.
- Familiarity with various podcast hosting platforms (e.g., Libsyn, Buzzsprout, Anchor).
- Basic knowledge of video editing for creating audiograms or promotional content is a plus.
