Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant specializing in International Sponsorship to join our dynamic finance team in New York. This critical role is central to managing the financial lifecycle of our global sponsorship programs, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accurate reporting across multiple international jurisdictions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting processes related to international sponsorships, from initial agreement review and revenue recognition to expense tracking, budgeting, and financial analysis. As an Accountant for International Sponsorship, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our global operations. You will collaborate closely with various internal departments, including legal, program management, and business development, as well as external international partners and sponsors. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex international tax regulations, foreign exchange implications, and varied accounting standards to ensure all financial activities are compliant and accurately reflected. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle accounting for international sponsorship agreements, including contract review, revenue recognition, invoicing, and collections.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports specific to international sponsorship programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Monitor and reconcile sponsorship-related accounts, including deferred revenue, receivables, and payables across various international entities.
  • Collaborate with legal and program teams to ensure sponsorship agreements are financially viable and align with budgetary constraints and reporting requirements.
  • Process multi-currency transactions, manage foreign exchange fluctuations, and implement strategies to mitigate currency risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts for international sponsorship activities.
  • Ensure compliance with international tax regulations, local statutory requirements, and organizational policies related to sponsorships.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to international sponsorship finances.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls for international sponsorship accounting processes.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management regarding the performance and impact of international sponsorship programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in international accounting standards and regulatory environments relevant to global sponsorships.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on international transactions or sponsorship management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in advanced accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector or organizations with extensive international operations.
  • Familiarity with grant accounting or fund accounting principles.
  • Experience with international tax compliance and reporting.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, particularly in languages relevant to global operations.
