Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of packages, adhering to company safety protocols.
- Verify the accuracy of package counts and delivery manifests before and after routes.
- Support drivers with navigation and route planning to optimize delivery efficiency in the Barrhaven and wider Ottawa area.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries, ensuring a positive experience.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with the driver and dispatch team regarding any route changes, delays, or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall delivery operations.
Required Skills
- Valid G Class Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the Barrhaven and Ottawa geographical area.
