Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Gardener to join our dynamic team, focusing on landscaping and grounds care within Hucknall, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, strimming, edging, weeding, pruning, and hedge cutting.
  • Plant, cultivate, and maintain a wide variety of plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers.
  • Monitor plant health, identify common pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain planting beds, including soil cultivation, mulching, and fertilisation.
  • Operate and maintain a range of gardening machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest horticultural standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of new landscaping projects as required.
  • Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water usage.
  • Undertake litter picking, leaf clearance, and general site tidiness.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or the public on-site.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in professional gardening or grounds maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and plant care.
  • Proficiency in operating various gardening machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
  • PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates.
  • Experience with chainsaw operation (CS30/31 or equivalent).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices.
