Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Person to join our dynamic team in Wexford-Maryvale, Toronto. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. This encompasses a broad range of general maintenance duties, from routine inspections and preventative measures to addressing urgent repair needs across various systems and areas. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, capable of working independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring our properties uphold the highest standards, providing a safe and well-maintained space for our occupants and visitors. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC filters, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and minor electrical components.
  • Conduct daily inspections of premises to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly, addressing tenant requests and concerns with efficiency.
  • Execute general repairs such as painting, patching drywall, carpentry work, minor appliance repair, and flooring upkeep.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including minor landscaping tasks, waste management, snow removal during winter months, and general cleanliness.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular hours when necessary, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational continuity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and expenditures using digital or manual systems.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in general building maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic diagnostic tests.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of professional interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in a skilled trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school education is a plus.
