Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a diligent and reliable Loading Dock Worker to join our operations in Hintonburg, Ottawa. As a Loading Dock Worker, you will be a crucial part of our logistics team, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, ensuring that inbound and outbound shipments are handled with care and accuracy. Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  • Sort, organize, and store incoming inventory in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests, invoices, and purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including performing daily pre-shift safety checks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading dock area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers regarding shipment status, potential issues, or delays.
  • Assist with inventory counts and participate in general warehouse duties as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and quality control.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Excellent physical stamina, endurance, and manual dexterity.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, verifying, and documenting shipments.
  • Basic math skills for inventory verification and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Team player with good verbal communication skills and a cooperative attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse, logistics, or loading dock environment.
  • Valid forklift certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck) and experience operating various material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a warehouse setting.
  • Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
