Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Full-Time Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance operations in the vibrant Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and longevity of our assets. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be instrumental in scheduling and delegating tasks, performing quality control, and providing technical guidance to a skilled team of maintenance technicians. We are looking for a proactive leader who can anticipate potential issues, implement effective preventative maintenance programs, and respond promptly to emergent repairs.

Your day-to-day will be dynamic, requiring a blend of hands-on problem-solving, meticulous planning, and strong leadership. You will be responsible for managing budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient scheduling and task completion.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs for all facility equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, plan necessary repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective procurement of parts and services.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption during maintenance activities and project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and inventory.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests outside regular hours when required.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance team skills and performance.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in an industrial or commercial setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or trade certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical).
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in British Columbia.
  • Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
