Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and track music licensing agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with terms.
  • Conduct comprehensive copyright research for musical compositions and sound recordings.
  • Process and reconcile royalty statements, ensuring timely and accurate payments to rights holders.
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of various licensing agreements (e.g., synchronization, master use, mechanical, public performance).
  • Monitor global usage of licensed music and identify potential copyright infringements.
  • Resolve licensing and royalty disputes in collaboration with legal and business teams.
  • Maintain detailed databases of intellectual property rights, licenses, and contractual obligations.
  • Stay updated on evolving copyright laws, industry standards, and digital rights management technologies.
  • Liaise with artists, publishers, labels, and external partners regarding licensing inquiries and documentation.
  • Generate reports on licensing activity, revenue streams, and copyright status.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in music licensing, copyright administration, or rights management.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international copyright law and intellectual property principles.
  • Proven experience with music licensing agreements (e.g., sync, master use, mechanical, public performance).
