Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a compassionate and diligent Full-Time Laundry Aide to join our dedicated team within our esteemed nursing home located in the vibrant Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood of Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute all resident personal laundry and facility linens according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Adhere strictly to all infection control and safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of soiled and contaminated items.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report inventory needs to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of the laundry room and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Inspect linens and clothing for damage or stains, reporting any issues for repair or replacement.
- Assist with labeling and organizing resident clothing to ensure proper return.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other team members regarding laundry services and resident needs.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful environment for residents and colleagues.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and pushing laundry carts.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment operation and care.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting resident privacy.

- Understanding and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Laundry Aide in a healthcare, long-term care, or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing techniques.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- WHMIS certification.
