Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring security systems, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms, for alerts, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
  • Support the incident response team by accurately documenting security incidents, gathering initial forensic information, and assisting with timely remediation efforts.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and meticulous maintenance of security policies, procedures, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Conduct basic vulnerability scans, analyze results, and assist in tracking and reporting identified vulnerabilities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Help manage and audit user access controls and permissions across various internal systems and critical business applications.
  • Actively participate in security awareness training initiatives for all employees, helping to create engaging educational materials and facilitate interactive sessions.
  • Provide diligent first-line support for security-related queries and technical issues emanating from internal users, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Assist in the regular review of security logs and audit trails to proactively identify potential security breaches or policy violations.
  • Stay continuously informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, industry trends, and emerging best practices through self-study and provided resources.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of computer networks (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions).
  • Strong analytical and meticulous problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
  • Eagerness to learn rapidly and adapt to new technologies, security concepts, and evolving threat landscapes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently on tasks and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical conduct when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Relevant foundational certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ (or a demonstrated willingness to obtain them within a specific timeframe).
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation or data analysis.
  • Awareness of common cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
