Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts from our vibrant Harbour Centre office in Vancouver. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future growth and sustainability of our organization. As Development Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies across multiple channels, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and special events. You will inspire and motivate a dedicated team, cultivate meaningful relationships with major donors, and expand our network of philanthropic supporters. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to achieve ambitious revenue goals.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing fundraising team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Oversee grant writing and reporting processes, ensuring timely submission and compliance.
- Plan and execute successful fundraising events and campaigns.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, providing regular reports on fundraising performance.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on strategic planning and donor engagement.
- Identify and research new funding sources and innovative fundraising strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising leadership.
- Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) and fundraising databases.
- Strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong donor relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Non-Profit Management).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Non-Profit Management, Philanthropy, or a related field.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
- Experience working with diverse community stakeholders and volunteers.
- Familiarity with the Vancouver philanthropic landscape.
